Most students planning to attend college take the Scholastic Aptitude Test. Though the results are only one factor in the admission process, they are certainly crucial, especially for those who set their sights high! A fine performance on the S.A.T. can only enhance and expand a student's options for higher education. It has been said that "coaching" can have only a negligible impact on S.A.T. performance. However, experience has demonstrated that direct, supervised practice on the test itself usually improves performance, sometimes by 200+ points!
WHAT WE DO: Increase familiarity with the specific directions and question formats. Review basic math and English skills required for the test. Develop specific strategies for approaching the test in general. Develop specific strategies for approaching each type of question. Teach techniques to increase reading rate and comprehension. WHAT WE PROVIDE: Small class size and individualized attention to students' needs. Class scheduling that does not interfere with the students' commitments. A pre-test based on actual S.A.T.s to diagnose, analyze and address student problem areas. A post-test of an actual S.A.T. to record the students' progress, and boost their confidence. A final report listing both scores and individualized comments for each student.
